Anti-Semitism event at EP Bremen

09.09.2022. Europa Punkt Bremen and the association "Medien Bildung Demokrati"e are holding a series of events entitled "European Remembrance Culture and Anti-Semitism - What we can learn from the past for the future! Malin Ehler, Christoph Gebauer and Aylin Bicer (Q2) sat on the panel together with Daniel Uschpol and Alexandra Nozik, who reported on Jewish life today.
First, the event was introduced by a welcome from the State Councilor Mr. Stührenberg, followed by a welcome from the moderator Nadja Zimmermann. Afterwards Daniel Uschpol and Alexandra Nozik reported about Jewish life today. Afterwards Dr. Juliane Wetzel gave information about the forms of anti-Semitism.
After this input there was an open discussion round between Daniel Uschpol, Alexandra Nozik and our three pupils: inside, they could bring questions and suggestions into the discussion.
Tanja Behrmann, head of the European Department Bremen, closed the event with some words about the topic.
Some of our courses followed the event online, very soon it will be available in retrospect on YouTube. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O8qRgt7HSg&t=2243s.

How it all began!

The original impulse came from the former Oberschulrat, Mr Stephan Rademacher. He had taken it upon himself to give Bremerhaven's schools a more European orientation. After our headmaster Ingo Beck was convinced of the concept and idea during an Erasmus+ training course in Malta, also through the support of Stephan Rademacher, the process was initiated! 🙂

"Europe is important to me because only together can we all answer the important questions of the future."
(Mr Stephan Rademacher)

Hello and welcome!

The time has come! - Since 01 March 2021 we are accredited with Erasmus+. This means that we can benefit from a very far-reaching funding program of the EU, which offers us completely new opportunities and ways of learning and teaching.

Erasmus+ aims to enrich lives and create openness to other(s) and is therefore a great fit for us: we too are characterized by openness, a diverse, engaged school community and a desire to promote values and strengths.

The slogan of the Erasmus+ program is "Enriching lives, opening minds" and we think that fits really well with our school: We feel diversity is an enrichment - we would like to expand this even further with Erasmus+.

Thessaloniki

16.10.2022. We have worked here on site within the framework of a strategic school partnership with five European partner schools on selected issues regarding the basic principles of the project schools in the sense of a democratic school as well as the rights, duties and tasks of those involved in school life. As a final project result, a common constitutional order of a "school with a democratic school culture" was created.
We had a wonderful time in Thessaloniki and visited friends from Madeira (Portugal), Torbali (Turkey) and Viterbo (Italy)!
Now we are about to create a small magazine and the final report before we will start more projects! 🙂
